What is a benefit cycle?

A benefit bike is a taxable benefit that an employer can offer to its employees. You as an employee pay tax on the benefit and your employer pays employer contributions. The employer chooses whether the offer should be cost-neutral or whether they want to subsidize the offer. Salary exchange (gross salary deduction) means that as an employee you accept a lower salary in exchange for a benefit. The cost of the bike for the employee is significantly lower than if you had bought your bike yourself.

How do I, as an employer, offer a benefit cycle to my employees?

To be able to offer benefit bikes, you as an employer need to sign an agreement with one of our partners Bikelease or Personalcyklar here. What determines the cost of a benefit cycle?
For those of you who are employed, the cost of your benefit bike is determined partly by your choice of bike package, your salary level and your marginal tax. When purchasing a benefit bike, the cost is always calculated on the regular price of the bike. From 2022, new tax rules for benefit bikes will apply in 2022, which makes it even more advantageous to acquire a benefit bike today. Read more about the new benefit rules here. Leasing a bike at the company means that your employer makes a gross salary deduction and adds a benefit value each month. Your net cost depends on your salary level and marginal tax. Once you have chosen your benefit bike, you will be able to see at checkout what your monthly cost for your chosen bike package will be.
